The "OSIMS" projects is a really bad acrynym for "Open Source Issue Management Software". What this basically means is, looking for existing software or creating software which tackles some of the basic tasks of administrating/implementing a quality assurance system. Emphasis being given to the ISO 9000 series of standards. Basically it's a journey that i'm undertaking to solve the problems for myself and documenting them here.
So how can we acomplish this goal? Well, for starters it's not possible to produce and package every tool necessary to accomplish these tasks. However, there's a lot of tools out that that could be tied together to produce a relatively homogenous system to solve the problems indicated.
So what are some of the basic elements?
- tracking customer complaints
- tracking internal/external quality system audits
